A plain-English account of what we collect, why, and what we will and will not do with it.
Maison Grey is built on trust. Gifting is personal; the details you share with us are not for sale, never have been, and never will be. This page sets out what we hold, where it goes, and how you can ask for changes at any time.
Information you give us directly
When you build a Taste Profile, send a contact note, request a Signature or Concierge session, or subscribe to our list, you provide some combination of:
- Your name and email address
- Details about the person you're gifting — relationship, occasion, budget, preferences
- The text of your message or enquiry
Form submissions are processed by a third-party form-processing partner and delivered to our private inbox. Newsletter subscriptions are managed through a third-party email service provider. All partners we work with maintain their own privacy policies and are GDPR-compliant.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours logs basic analytics through a third-party analytics provider — anonymised IP, browser type, pages viewed, time on page. This tells us which Edits resonate, which features earn use, and where the site could read more clearly. Analytics data is never combined with the personal information you provide directly.
Your Gift Shelf — the saved gifts and recipients you build — lives in your browser's local storage. It is not transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser data will remove it.
How we use what you share
To answer your enquiry, prepare your selection, or fulfil your subscription. To understand site usage in aggregate. That is all.
We do not:
- Sell your information to any third party, ever
- Share your email address with advertisers
- Use your data for purposes beyond what you gave it for
- Retain information longer than necessary
Categories of third parties we work with
A small number of trusted vendors handle specific functions on our behalf. Each operates under its own GDPR-compliant policy, processes data only as needed, and is contractually restricted from using your information for any purpose beyond providing the service. The categories are:
- A form-processing partner — for delivering enquiries and Taste Profile submissions to our private inbox
- An email service provider — for newsletter delivery and unsubscribe management
- An analytics provider — for anonymised site analytics
- A hosting provider — for serving the website and basic server logs
- An AI infrastructure provider — when you build a Taste Profile, your gifting preferences (occasion, relationship, budget) are processed to generate the recommendation set. No email or contact information is shared with this provider.

Your rights
At any time, you can ask us to:
- Confirm what information we hold on you
- Update or correct any of it
- Delete it entirely
- Unsubscribe from our list (every dispatch carries an unsubscribe link)
Write to hello@maison-grey.com and we'll act within seven days.
Children
Maison Grey is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

We may revise this page from time to time. The effective date below reflects the most recent change. Material updates will be summarised here above the date.
